Voluntary movement emerges from neural activity distributed across a diverse range of interconnected motor control centers - notably sensorimotor cortex, the basal ganglia, and spinal cord. My research combines anatomical, electrophysiological, and behavioral methods in an effort to uncover the structural and functional principles that underlie coordination of these key motor control centers.
